Brian Glen Goins

Brian Goins, 54, of Cobden, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, in Bucaramanga, Colombia. 

He was born on Aug. 23, 1964, in Anna, the son of William Glen and Barbara Johnson Goins. 

He married Karol Osorio Barbosa on Oct. 31, 2016, in Cobden.

He is survived by his wife, Karol Osorio Goins of Bucaramanga, Colombia; children Ben (Erica) Goins of Cape Girardeau, Christian and Leah Goins, both of Cobden; stepsons Juan Osorio Barbosa and Jose Osorio Barbosa, both of Bucaramanga, Colombia; his father, Glen (Jane) Goins of Jonesboro; a brother, Mike (Patricia) Goins of Cobden; a sister, Glenda (Randy) Little of Cobden; stepsisters Tracy (Tom) Smith of Anna, Kim (David) Prater of Anna and Leigh Burns of Jonesboro; a stepbrother, Daniel (Mandy) Page of Anna; other family and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, Steven Eugene Goins; and a nephew, Steven Eugene Goins Jr.

He attended the Connect Point Church in Anna. He enjoyed a career in aviation of over 30 years, in which he was able to see parts of the world many only dream of. 

He never shirked from an opportunity to provide for his children, spending the latter years of his career flying contract in Afghanistan and then in Nigeria. 

He always made the best of every situation and frequently went out of his way to help others. He made friends wherever he went and touched the hearts of many people across the globe. 

Funeral services for Brian Goins were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Dongola Pentecostal Church, with Tom Wall officiating. Interment was in the Cobden Cemetery.  

Memorials can be made to the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
