Billy Lee Verble
Billy Lee Verble, 82, died Monday, April 24, 2017, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va.
He was born to Archie Verble and Nellie Stoner Verble on April 2, 1935, in Cairo.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy and four years in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from a civil service position in Crystal City, Va., with the federal government. He remained in the Fredericksburg area until his death.
He is survived by his two children and three grandchildren: son Brian Verble of Escalon, Calif., and daughter Karen Verble of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren Tyler and Ryan Verble and Emily Scardina. He is also survived by three nieces, Barbara Burnett, Patricia Paternoster and Haila Cavanagh; a brother-in-law, John McDaniels, several cousins, great-nephews and nieces and his dearest friend, Mildred Covington of Fredericksburg.
He was cremated and is to be in Arlington National Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by both parents; his twin, Betty McDaniels, whom he called “Sissy” and he was her “Sonny.”
