Betty Ruth Toler
Betty Ruth Toler, 90, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Integrity Healthcare of Anna.
She was born on Nov. 24, 1933, in Cobden, the daughter of Walter and Mildred Burris Hill.
She married Bobby Ray Toler Sr. on Sept. 20, 1952, in Union County. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1988.
Mrs. Toler was a lifetime member of the Union Congregational Church. She loved her flower garden and helping her son Bobby with the vegetable garden at the farm. During the season she was always generous with the produce, giving it to anyone who needed it.
Betty was a great cook; she cooked lunch every day and everyone was invited to the table.
She loved her family; during the summer she cared for her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. She will remembered for her kind heart and generous spirit.
She is survived by her son, Bobby (Karen) Toler Jr. of Jonesboro; daughter Susan (Bob) Holderfield of Anna; seven grandchildren, Robin (Rollie) Hawk, J.R. (Hope) Holderfield, Kimberly (Josh) Spurlock, Mary (Robbie) Petzoldt, Bobby Dale (Caitlyn) Toler, Amber Toler and Beth Ann Myers; 11 great-grandchildren, Madi Hawk, Dylan, Nolan, Faith and Ian Holderfield, Chad Jr. and Olivia Myers, Zachary and McKenzie Spurlock, Riley Petzoldt and Alieda (Donald) Dunn; one great-great-grandchild, Elijah Dunn; a brother, Bob (Linda) Hill of Cobden; sisters Shirley Rendleman of Indiana and Norma (Don) Lemaster of Florida; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Ray Toler Sr.; and two sisters, Sue Bunch, Billie Jean Alley.
Graveside funeral services for Betty Ruth Toler were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Jonesboro Cemetery, with the Rev. Carroll Toler officiating. Interment followed.
Memorials can be made to the Bald Knob Cross of Peace or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
