Betty J. Masters

Betty J. Masters, 86, of Cobden, died Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at her daughter’s home. 

She was born on Sept. 23, 1936, in Suffolk, Va., the daughter of Ralph and Mable Outland Gray.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Debra) Masters of Mt. Dora, Fla.; daughter Kim Harvel of Cobden; grandchildren Ashley (Drew) Williams, Rachel (Patrick) Brewster, Taylor Harvel (Bryce Reynolds), Candice Chachkin and Bobby Masters; great-grandchildren June, Ben, and Cain Daniel, William and Elaina Brewster; other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Masters, and son, Keith Masters.

She worked for the Utilities Commission in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and later for the City of St. Augustine Beach as the personnel director until her retirement. 

She loved fishing and working in her flower garden. 

Memorial visitation was from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
