Ann B. Middleton
On June 3, 2023, Ann B. Middleton passed away at home after a long battle with cancer. She was 86 years old. Ann was born in Lyon County, Kentucky, on Dec. 24, 1936.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Middleton; three children, Sheila Ann Middleton of Anna, Alan Middleton of Cobden and Lisa Tripp of Buncombe; grandchildren Jessica Ann Middleton of Anna and Michael G. Tripp of Carterville; and great-grandson Cameron Golladay of Anna.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Carolyn Middleton of Marion, Willard and Judy Middleton of Dutchtown, Mo., and David and Bonnie Middleton of Carterville.
Her parents, Noma (Faughn) Craddock and Thomas Salyers, preceded her in death, along with her siblings Thomas Earl Salyers, Grace Fox, Louise Smith, Willard Salyers, James W. Salyers, Marie Stevens and Cecil Salyers; in-laws Charles and Ruby Middleton; and son-in-law, Ira D. Tripp Jr.
Russell and Ann Salyers Middleton were united in marriage on Dec. 3, 1955 in Jonesboro. Together they shared over 67 years of marriage.
She was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church for over 60 years. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and teaching Vacation Bible School for many years.
In 1977, she enrolled in the School of Cosmetology in Cape Girardeau. She became a licensed cosmetologist in 1978. She worked for many years at Gloria’s Beauty Shop in Jonesboro, where she made many lifelong friends.
Funeral services for Ann B. Middleton were at noon Tuesday, June 6, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. The Rev. Scott Harner officiated.
Burial was in the Anna Cemetery immediately following the service.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois in Marion. Nurse Vanessa provided exceptional care to Ann the past two months, along with Amanda, Matt and Claire.
