Notre Dame defeats A-J

Cape Notre Dame defeated visiting Anna-Jonesboro 3-0 in high school boys’ soccer action Thursday, Sept. 24.

Cape Notre Dame topped the Wildcats 10-1 on shots on goal and 6-2 in corner kicks.

A-J goalkeeper Mason Hayward prevented seven shot attempts on goal.

A-J, which had a six game winning streak going into the game, fell to 10-5-0 overall.

The Wildcats are seeded No. 2 in the Columbia regional, which is scheduled to begin Oct. 13. Waterloo-Gabault has the top seed. A-J plays first-round action at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 13 with No. 7 seed Valmeyer.
