Brenda Kay Augustine (Flamm)
Brenda Kay Augustine (Flamm), 61, a Naperville resident since 1992, and formerly of Cobden, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at her home surrounded by her husband, children, mother and sisters. She was born on May 11, 1961, in Cobden, Ill.
Beloved wife of David F. Augustine, whom she married on Dec. 17, 1987; loving mother of Adam (Bethany) Augustine of Oswego, Brianne (Scott) Mann of Lisle and Catherine (fiancé, David Tasevski) Augustine of Lisle; adored grandmother of Evelyn and Kinsley Augustine; devoted daughter of Nancy Flamm (Clutts) and the late William Flamm; dear sister of Susan (Richard) Lewis, Karen (the late Dwight) Kiefer, Patty (Kenny) Flamm, Rita (Clay) Mitchell and the late David Flamm (infant); daughter-in-law of Joseph Augustine and the late Theresa Augustine; fond niece, cousin, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt and friend of many.
Brenda grew up on her family’s farm, Flamm Orchards, in Cobden, Illinois. She adored her days on the farm with her four sisters and many cousins. Brenda was a true “Daddy’s Girl”, spending her days alongside her father Bill Flamm.
Brenda studied at Southern Illinois University before moving to the Chicagoland area.
In Naperville, she started her family with David Augustine. Brenda was the mother to three children (Adam, Brianne, and Catherine).
She treasured her time spent at home raising her children. Days were spent outside in her yard, planting flowers and chatting with her neighbors.
Brenda was well known for her cooking (her pancakes won first place in the state fair!) and was eager to celebrate holidays with family and friends. She had a great love for animals, in particular her dogs.
In addition to raising her own children, Brenda loved to care for others around her. She taught her children to be strong, loyal, and compassionate.
Brenda’s greatest joy was being promoted to Grandma. She spent each day with her two granddaughters, Evelyn and Kinsley. The girls brightened her days.
Brenda and David enjoyed weekends spent at their boat and with their friends at Starved Rock Yacht Club.
Brenda’s life was filled with love – of her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville.
Entombment will follow at Holy Apostles Mausoleum in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
