Anna Arts Center invites community to adopt penguin

The Shawnee Hills Arts Council’s Anna Arts Center is inviting the community to adopt a penguin.

Penguins can be adopted for $5 and then dressed up for an upcoming exhibit and auction.

Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed, most original and funniest penguins.

Penguins can be returned to the Anna Arts Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on April 18 or from 10 a.m. to noon on April 20.

The arts center is located at 125 W. Davie St. in Anna.

An exhibit featuring the penguins is scheduled to open on April 23.

Exhibit hours will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

An awards reception and auction are planned on April 28.

The reception begins at 2 p.m. Penguins will be auctioned to good homes starting at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
