Lady Wildcat softball squad falls to Du Quoin, Pinckneyville

<p class="p1">The Anna-Jonesboro  Community High School softball team lost a pair of games in recent action.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Du  Quoin 3, A-J 1:</strong> Haley Inman and Mackenzie Conway were each 1-for-2 to lead the host Lady Wildcats in the loss in Southern Illinois River-to-River  Conference  Mississippi Division play Friday, April 24.</p><p class="p1">Reagan Morrison was 1-for-3  with a triple. Katie Williams and Madi Bigler were each 1-for-3.</p><p class="p1">Mackenzie Carter was the losing pitcher, scattering 4 hits to go with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Pinckneyville 10, A-J 2:</strong> Hailley Abernathy was 3-for-3 with a double to lead the visiting Lady Wildcats in the conference loss Tuesday, April 21.</p><p class="p1">Carter was 1-for-3 with   a double. Conway, Kaycee Akers, Bigler and Inman were each 1-for-3. Britni Helton and Carter pitched in the loss, combining to scatter 10 hits. Helton pitched 4 innings and allowed 8 hits to go with 2 walks and a strikeout. Carter pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 hits to go with 3 walks and one strikeout.</p><p class="p1">A-J fell to 5-10 overall with the losses.</p>
