James Homer Taylor, age 48 of Murphysboro, died at 10:00AM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital.

He was born February 23, 1966 to Pearl Daniel and Carolyn (Casteel) Taylor in Anna.

James was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors.

He is survived by his father, Pearl Taylor, Sr. of Ashland, MS; 2 sisters, Carolyn Carter and Anna Wardell of Murphysboro; a brother, Pearl (Tonya) Taylor, Jr of Carbondale; a very good friend, Helen Davis of Dongola; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn and his grandparents.

Visitation was from 10:00 AM until the time of service Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home.

Funeral services for James Homer Taylor were held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Private Entombment will be at the Pleasant Grove Memorial Park at a later date.
