Earl F. Shoemaker

Earl F. Shoemaker, 72, of Anna, died at 10:47 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 in the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born Dec. 10, 1942 in Bloomfield, Illinois, the son of Thomas Lee and Beatrice Lee Mix Shoemaker. He married Dorothy L. Kelley on May 25, 1962 in Anna.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy L. Shoemaker of Anna; four children, Julie Ann Shoemaker of Carbondale, Tonika Shoemaker of Hurst, Christopher Shoemaker of Wentzville, Missour, Ginger Nagle of Marion; seven grandchildren, Austin Shoemaker, Rebecca Wilson, Dillon Jurcy, Lane Kayli Piller, Jacob Nagel, Colton Nagel, and Addison Nagel; one brother, Bob Shoemaker of Anna; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and four sisters.

He was retired from Choate Mental Health after working 34 years as a technician. He enjoyed singing karaoke and for thirty eight years was a referee and umpire for IHSA local sporting events. Earl served his country in the United States Army.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
