A-JCHS class of 1962 has 50th reunion Oct. 5-7

The A-J class of 1962 celebrated their 50th reunion on Oct. 5-7.

A few of them braved the cold rainy football game at the Pit and then gathered for a social hour at the Blue Boar.

It was a fun evening trying to figure out classmates they hadn’t been around in years.

On Saturday afternoon the class of 1962 had lunch at the beautiful Blue Sky Vineyard on Rocky Comfort Road and sampled some of their award winning wines.

Saturday night the classmates gathered at Starview Vineyard to share 50 years of stories and renew friendships.

Dinner was served by Teresa’s with John Paul Davis serving as the master of ceremonies.

A memorial was held for the deceased classmates, with classmates sharing memories of their friends.

Several reproductions of Maurice Metgzer’s painting of the Lincoln Douglas reenactment at the Jonesboro park were given as door prizes.

John Paul Davis gave a tribute to what it’s like on “our journey of life” and had the group sharing many good laughs.

There were several members of the class of 1962 who celebrated the reunion with classmates for the first time.

Members traveled from Scottsdale, Ariz., Rockville, Md., Dunnellon, Fla., Midland, Texas, Columbus, Miss., Wichita, Kan., and Dassel, Minn., and several nearby cities.

On Sunday morning the group gathered at the lovely home on Skyline Drive in Cobden of Linda and George Warren’s to have brunch and say their good byes.

Everyone enjoyed the reunion and look forward to their next meeting. A special thank you to the reunion planning committee.
