Dorothy Minyard

Dorothy Minyard, age 75, of Tamms, died at 4:40 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2009 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

She was born on August 3, 1933 in Thebes, IL to Thomas and Lucille (Williams) Bryant.  She married George Minyard on December 22, 1960.  He preceded her in death on February 15, 2005. 

She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She was an avid reader and loved tending to her flower garden.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Dorothy Kliest of Indianapolis, IN, Janice DeJesus of Hammond, IN, Carol (Michael) Howard of Hartford, KY and Sonia (Dennis) Chandler of Ullin;

2 sons, George (Lynnie) Kirk of Bayville, NJ and Wayne (Tammy) Kirk of Hammond, IN;

16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren;

2 brothers, Teddy (Judy) Bryant of Tamms and Freddie (Jean) Bryant of Navarre, FL;

nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 2 brothers, Thomas and Eddie Bryant.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2009 at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
