A-JCHS Wildcat baseball team outscores Pinckneyville last week

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School baseball team split in last week’s action.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Benton 19, A-J 8:</strong> Michael Ralls was 2-for-2 for the host Wildcats in the loss Thursday, April 23.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Bryce Osman was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs for A-J. Isaac Pender was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and 3 RBIs. Braydon Benefield was 1-for-1. Collin Prather was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Noah Prater had a stolen base and an RBI. Blake Klett added an RBI.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Michael Ralls, Hunter Ralls, Nathan Vicenzi and Osman pitched in the loss, combining to scatter 6 hits to go with 12 walks and no strikeouts.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>A-J 10, Pinckneyville 5:</strong> Prater was 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, a stolen base and 2 RBIs to lead the visiting Wildcats to the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Mississippi Division win Tuesday, April 21.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Wade Haire was 3-for-4 with a home run and 5 RBIs. Prather was 3-for-5. Pender and Troy Baggott were each 1-for-3. Michael Ralls had a stolen base.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Prater and Klett pitched in the win, combining to scatter 9 hits. Prater pitched 3 innings and allowed 5 hits to go with a walk and 2 strikeouts. Klett pitched 4 innings and allowed 4 hits to go with 2 walks and a strikeout.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">A-J’s record stood at 5-11 overall following the two games.</span></p>
