Delta Theta Tau Sorority has busy spring planned

 recently had a monthly social at the home of Angie McClellan.

Katy Mowery and Billie Holshouser served as hostesses along with Angie for an event which had a Mardi Gras theme.

The members of Delta Theta Tau Sorority plan to be busy this spring.

The sorority hosted a  recent trivia fund-raising event. The event raised money for the VFW Men's Auxiliary's scholarships.

A couple of sorority members helped with clean up at the Union County animal shelter.

Others assisted with ticket sales for an Anna Junior High School Art Club dinner.

The sorority is selling Krispy Kreme donuts and coffees in an effort to raise money for the group's many philanthropic efforts.

Applications for the sorority's annual scholarship have been distributed to local high schools.

A minimum of one scholarship will be awarded in April to a Union County high school senior. Last year, four $1,000 scholarships were awarded.

The sorority also is gearing up for its first golf scramble. The scramble is planned Saturday, June 22, at the Union County Country Club in Anna.

Music will be provided at the scramble by the Harner sisters in the evening.

The sorority anticipates that there will be a.m. and p.m. tee times, with the first 20 paid teams having first preference.

Reservations for four-person teams already are being accepted. Information is available from Katy Mowery, Natalie Richardson or any sorority member.

The scramble will be a fundraiser for the Delta Theta Tau scholarship, Relay For Life and other community charities that are supported by the group throughout the year.

Sorority members voice their appreciation for the support they receive from the community.
