Leroy Eddleman

Leroy Eddleman, 80, of Dongola, died at 11:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at the home of his son.

He was born on November 4, 1928, in Dongola to Archie and Amy (Lingle) Eddleman. He married Janet Otten on December 30, 1954. She survives him.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dongola. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was a life long farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was an Oliver Tractor fan.

He is survived by his wife, Janet of Dongola; two sons, Mark (Janice) Eddleman and Dana (Jama) Eddleman, both of Dongola; four grandchildren, Tyler, Karlie, Seth and Kelsie; two sisters, Lula Belle Porter of St. Louis, MO and Linda McIntosh of Marion; two brothers, Artie Eddleman of Dongola and Gene Eddleman of Anna; bieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, August 16 and from 8 to 10 a.m., Monday, August 17, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m., Monday, August 17, at First Lutheran Church in Dongola.

Funeral services will be held at 11: a.m. Monday, August 17, 2009, at First Lutheran Church in Dongola with Rev. Tim Heinecke officiating. Interment will be in Meisenheimer Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Illinois National Guard.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Meisenheimer Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home and the church.
