Robert Louis Stevens

Robert Louis Stevens, 54, of rural Vienna, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at 5:35 p.m. at his home near Vienna.

He was born on Feb. 3, 1955, in Anna, the son of Robert Stevens and Vassa Youngblood Stevens.

Survivors include a daughter, Misty Harris, and her husband Scott, of Vienna; two sons, Wade L. Stevens of Buncombe and Jacob L. Stevens of Vienna; a grandson, Zachary Wade Stevens; a brother, Mike Youngblood, and his wife Sharon, of Dongola; and a sister, Judy Dunn, and her husband Lonnie, of Boles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Donald; and a sister, Patricia.

He was employed as a truck driver by Veach Oil Company for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2004.

He was a member of the Cypress United Methodist Church. He liked hunting and watching western movies.

Funeral services were held Monday morning, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with the Rev. Mike Sharp officiating. Burial was in the McGinnis Cemetery in Union County.
