Richard R. Bernhard, 75, of Anna, died at 1:18 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born on July 3, 1940 in Jonesboro, the son of Norman and Helen (Baggott) Bernhard. Richard married Debbie Salter in 1973 in Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Bernhard of Anna; one son, Dean Bernhard of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Deanne (Tim) Ellis of Cobden; three grandchildren, Austin Pender, Kristin Pender and Ivy Bernhard; four step-grandchildren, Geri, Taylor, Jake and Molly Ellis; one brother, David Bernhard of Florida; mother-in-law, Joann Jenkins of Anna; his best friend, a yellow lab named, Nick; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Bernhard and mother, Helen Huff.
He owned and operated the Union County Reality until his retirement.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. Mike Turner officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery. Memorial contributions made be made to P.A.W.S. Envelopes will be available at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
