Robert ‘Bob’ Davis
Robert “Bob” Davis, 68, of Dongola, died at 8:33 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on August 18, 1944 in Dongola, the son of Elijah and Lola Mae Hartline Davis.
He married Merta Lacer on March 8, 1967.
He served in the U.S. Army. He had worked at Florsheim Shoe Company in Anna and Cape Girardeau, as well as working 11 years for the Illinois Department of Transportation.
He served on the cemetery board at St. John’s for over 25 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Merta of Dongola; one daughter, Kim and Coy Beanland of Boaz, Ky.; one granddaughter, Makenzie Beanland of Boaz, Ky.; two sisters, Dorothy Terbrak of Dongola and Jeanie Duke of Perks; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Coy Davis; an infant sister, Caroline and two brothers-in-law, Gene Terbrak and Wayne Duke.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with Dare Aden officiating. Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
