Billie Ruth Brimm

Billie Ruth Brimm, 84, of Anna, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1925, in Murphysboro, the daughter of Ezra and Anna Mifflin Gregory.

She married Frank Brimm on July 31, 1945, in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1992.

She is survived by three children, Nona (Don) Trambley of Anna, Kathy Modglin of Anna and Frankie Blackman of Anna; six grandchildren, Brian (Michelle) Trambley, Leslie (John) Mount, James Trambley, Rosa (John) Parks, Emilia (Christan) Davis and Thomas Brimm; 14 great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Andrew, Heather, John Thomas, Seth, Erikah, Emily, Esthen, Evan, Jasmine, Christan, Faith, Isaiah and Trinity; one brother, Lorin (Ruby) Gregory of Potosi, Mo.; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Joe Modglin; and a great-grandson, Kyle Trambley.

She was a member of the Anna Church of the Nazarene and was a longtime children’s nursery attendant at the church.

She retired from the Florsheim Shoe Company and Mulberry Manor, both in Anna.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brimm were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Brian Trambley and the Rev. Larry Barnhart officiating. Interment was in Casper Cemetery near Anna.

Memorials can be made to the Anna Church of the Nazarene or to the New Beginnings Community Church of the Nazarene in Carbondale.

Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna was in charge of arrangements.
