Willard Beasley
Willard Beasley, 95, of Tamms, died at 3:45 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2009, at City Care Center of Cobden.
Mr. Beasley was born on Sept. 29, 1913, in Morgantown, Ky., the son of Thomas and Mamie Elizabeth Burden Beasley.
Mr. Beasley was a U.S. World War II Navy veteran. He was a retired employee of Unimin Specialty Minerals in Tamms.
Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by three brothers Leo Beasley, Archie and Raymond Sr.; four sisters, Gracie, Mervel, Gertrie Beasley and Della Ross; and a great-grandson, Jeremy Wayne Curtis.
Survivors include five daughters, Della Curtis of Thebes, Ruth Beasley, Beverly Lameer and Janet Phegley, all of Racine, Wis., and Kathy Curtis of Olive Branch; four sons, Willard Beasley of Mounds, Ronald Beasley of Racine, Wis., Donald and Jerry Beasley, of Kenosha, Wis.; a sister, Joyce Bradshaw of Anna; a brother, Leslie Beasley of Tamms; 35 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Beasley will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, today, at Valley Mission Church on Old Cape Road near Jonesboro, with interment following in Valley Mission Cemetery near Jonesboro. The Rev. Billy Freeman will officiate.
Jones Funeral Home in Tamms is in charge of arrangements.
