Myrna Gayle Moore

Myrna Gayle Moore, 72, of Carbondale, died at 12:48 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at her home.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1938, in Makanda, the daughter of Leland and Lelia Chicon Ellis.

She married Donald D. Moore on Dec. 29, 1956, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2008.

She is survived by six children, Donna (Tom) Danza of Oak Brook, Kevin (Tayisa Kolesnichenko) Moore of Hawaii, Timothy Moore of Newport News, Va., Jayme (Steve) Long of Canton, Mo., Corinn (Alex) Rich of Houston, Texas, and Julie (Darius) Thompson of Shiloh; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; an infant daughter, Edna; two brothers, Vernon and J.R. Ellis; and two sisters, Shirley Paschon and Joyce Nance.

She was a member of the Makanda Baptist Church for many years.

According to Mrs. Moore’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be a memorial service at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the Evergreen Cemetery at Makanda.
