Tirzah M. Tweedy, 83, of Anna, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 in the Jonesboro Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born May 18, 1932 in Makanda, the daughter of William and Lucille Jackson Lirely.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Rion of Anna; grandchildren, Joeby Stearns, Brandy (Pat) Leary, and Olivia Rion; great-grandchildren, John David (Brittany) Pinnon, Alaina Pinnon, Ross Pinnon, Paul Pinnon, Emily Stearns, Morgan Massey, Amanda Leary, Jack Leary, Ryan Leary, and Laetyn Burton; great-great grandchild, Addison Roach and one more on the way; sisters, Una (John) Tripp of Anna, Gayle Caraker of Anna, Clairus (Bill) Pritchett of Goreville, and Myra Owens of Centralia; sister in law, Sue Bailey of Murphysboro; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Laster; and two brothers, Ivan and Billy Lirely.
She worked as a trust officer at the First National Bank of Jonesboro until her retirement. She was actively involved with Bald Know Cross for many years.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment was in the Rowan Cemetery in Makanda.
