Wetlands center offers hike, story hour, guided van tours
The Barkhausen Cache River Wetlands Center near Cypress announces plans for three upcoming events.

Glass Hill Hike: A hike at Glass Hill in the Cache River State Natural Area is planned from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Natural heritage biologist Mark Guetersloh will lead the hike.
Those who want to go on the hike are asked to meet at the parking lot on Pendleton Road, off the Dongola Cypress-Road.
Story Hour about Bats: A story hour about bats is planned from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the wetlands center.
The center is located at 8885 State Route 37 South near Cypress.
A naturalist will read story books about bats. A nature walk or an activity related to bats also are planned.
Those who want to attend the program are asked to call ahead so the staff can prepare activities for each child.
Guided Van Tour on Tunnel Hill State Trail: Guided van tours for senior citizens and persons with physical limitations are planned Friday, Oct. 25, on the Tunnel Hill State Trail. Four departure times are planned.
The tours will explore a section of the trail between Tunnel Hill and Walnut Grove Road, north of New Burnside.
A reservation is required to go on one of the tours.
