Tori Brummer, Cobden, earns Eagle Scout rank

Tori Brummer, the son of Thomas and Lori Brummer of Cobden, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  

He is a member of Troop No. 44 in Anna, which is part of the Big Muddy District within the Greater St. Louis Area Council.  

Troop No. 44 is sponsored by Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna.  

Throughout his time in Scouting, Tori earned 51 merit badges, attended the National Scout Jamboree, completed the Shiloh Military Hike, participated in the Lincoln Pilgrimage and completed National Youth Leadership Training.  

He has held many positions in the troop, including Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader and Order of the Arrow representative/secretary.  

In addition, he attended numerous meetings and participated in many service projects, camporees and summer camps.  

Some of his favorite camp locations included Pine Ridge Scout Camp, Camp Lewallen, S Bar F Ranch, Ferne Clyffe State Park, Trail of Tears State Forest, Giant City State Park, Dixon Springs, Lake Glendale, Garden of the Gods and Glen O Jones Lake.  

Tori’s Eagle Scout project (with the help of many friends, family and troop members), consisted of designing, building and installing bat houses at Trail of Tears State Forest in Union County.  

His Scoutmasters through the years included Josh Starratt, Bill Ecker and Danny Kaufman.  

Tori earned six Eagle Palms, making him the most decorated Scout of Troop No. 44.  

Following high school graduation, he plans to attend Utah State University to study outdoor product design and development.  

Tori’s grandparents are Richard and Maureen Brummer and John (deceased) and Bernadette Niemann, all of Effingham.
