Southern Illinois scouts join to celebrate Girl Scout Week

Celebration of the 2019 Girl Scout Week started March 10 and continues through March 16.

Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois are joining the annual celebration.

Girl Scout Sunday was March 10. The day was dedicated to giving Girl Scouts an opportunity to think about their beliefs and how they reflected in the Girl Scout Law.

The sisterhood of Girl Scouts was remembered on Monday, March 11.

Girl Scouts’ 107th birthday was celebrated on Tuesday, March 12.

March 13 was Girl Scout Spirit Day.

Thursday, today, is an opportunity to Do a Good Turn Daily. Girl Scouts are asked to perform an act of kindness and to help make the world a better place.

Girl Scouts are invited to make their community a better place on Friday, March 15.

Saturday, March 16, will be commemorated as Girl Scout Sabbath day. Girl Scouts are invited to reflect on their own beliefs and to learn something new about someone else’s faith.

The Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois council serves approximately 10,007 girls and engages 3,686 adult volunteers. The council serves 40 1/2 counties in Southern Illinois, including Union County.
