Shawnee Community College offering extended fall registration hours

Shawnee Community College classes are set to begin Aug. 16.

Extended registration hours are on Aug. 10 and Aug. 14-16 until 6:30 p.m. at the main campus in Ullin and all of the extension centers.

The main campus will be open on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for registration. Admissions, financial aid, testing and the bookstore will be open on that day as well.

The schedule of classes is available at the main campus and each of the extension centers. The schedule is also available online at www.shawneecc.edu under "current students," then "course enrollment," and then "course schedules."

To register, students must complete the following four items:

Complete a student information form.

Complete placement testing, which is required by all prospective students prior to registering for classes. Placement testing can be completed at the main campus in Ullin, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing is available at any of the extension centers by appointment.

Request a copy of high school completion to be sent directly to the admissions office. Hand-carried copies are not considered official.

Students should also schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor to schedule classes.

The first day to charge financial aid in the SCC bookstore for fall courses is Aug. 10. The last day is Sept. 22.

To inquire about FAFSA completion, contact the financial aid office at 618-634-3200, option 1, then option 2.
