Music festival events scheduled at arts center

The Shawnee Hills Arts Council is planning to host three Southern Illinois Music Festival events at the Anna Arts Center. 

The schedule of events follows:

Tuesday, June 4, 7:30 p.m. Chamber Music.

The concert is scheduled to feature string quartets by Mozart, Beethoven and Mendelssohn.  

Doors are scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission; $5 for students. Cash or checks will be accepted.

Wednesday, June 5, 10 a.m. Klassics for Kids.

Klassics for Kids is a live performance which is designed to expose children to the joys of live classical music. 

Admission is free. Children and adults are invited to attend.

Saturday, June 8, 3 p.m. Young Artists Program Opera Scenes Performance.

Arias and ensembles will be performed by eight of the participants in the arts center’s young artist program.

Admission is free. Children and adults are invited to attend.

The Anna Arts Center is located at 125 W. Davie St. in Anna.
