Marching Wildcats to compete in SIU band competition

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School’s marching band will be joining 13 other schools from Illinois and Missouri for the 10th annual “Music & Motion” high school marching band competition.

The competition is being organized by SIU director of athletic bands George Brozak and will take place at Saluki Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The event begins at 10 a.m. with bands playing every fifteen minutes throughout the morning and early afternoon. The Anna-Jonesboro Marching Wildcats are scheduled to perform at noon.

The Marching Salukis will also be on hand for a special exhibition performance at 1:30 p.m. before the awards program.

Tickets fro the event are $10 for adults and $5 for youth and senior citizens. Children under 4 years old are admitted free.
