July 4 events planned in Tamms
Independence Day will be celebrated on July 4 at the Tamms Park, which is located at Front and Cleveland in Tamms.
The Tamms Fire Department plans to present a variety of activities, including fireworks. Proceeds will benefit the department.
Food will be served by Tom's Place. Donnie Blaney will serve barbeque.
Kids' games and face painting are planned.
Live music will be presented by Steve Hornbeak. Door prizes will be awarded.
The fire department plans to sponsor its third annual car, truck and bike show. All vehicles are welcome to be a part of the open entry event.
Registration is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon. The show entry fee is $20.
Judging begins at 3 p.m. Awards will be presented at 5 p.m.
Prizes (overall) include $100 and a trophy for first place, $50 and a trophy for second place and $25 and a ribbon for third place.
