City of Anna honors administrator Steve Guined

Anna city administrator Steve Guined was honored for his service last Friday.

The city hosted a ceremony and luncheon in Guined’s honor at Anna City Hall.

Guined served the city for 29 years. He retired as of Friday. He was presented with a plaque and a key to the city by Mayor Steve Hartline.

The presentations were made during a ceremony, which was held prior to a luncheon.

Anna Mayor Steve Hartline, Anna City Council members David Isom, Dave Tellor and Martha Ann Webb were in attendance. Council member Al Kamp could not be present.

Also in attendance for the special occasion were members of Guined’s family, friends, coworkers (and former coworkers) and colleagues.

The plaque which was presented by the mayor to Guined voiced appreciation “for 29 years of dedicated service to the City of Anna,” from 1990 to 2019. The plaque also congratulated him upon his retirement.

A cake which was served at the luncheon which followed the ceremony thanked Guined “for your many years of service and friendship.”

Mayor Hartline said that Friday’s ceremony was a time of joy and sadness. 

“What he has done for the city – words can’t describe it,” the mayor said.

Hartline cited Guined’s “loyalty, love for the city and dedication to the city” while honoring the long-time administrator.

City council member David Isom thanked Guined for his service. “His services are going to be missed,” Isom said.

Council member Dave Tellor thanked the man he considers to be a friend for leading Anna into the future.

“Steve has always been there for me,” council member Martha Ann Webb said. “He’s been a blessing. We just appreciate you so much.”
