Annual fireworks display canceled

Anna mayor Steve Hartline and the Anna City Council announced that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the annual 4th of July fireworks display held at the Anna City Park has been canceled.

Hartline said in a press release that "the decision was not arrived at lightly."

"City officials would like to clarify that the event was scheduled, but on June 4, the State Fire Marshall did not issue our vendor a license to conduct the fireworks display. There was a diligent effort made to secure another vendor, but unfortunately due to limited amount of time we are unable to do so."

Hartline and the city council expressed gratitude to those who have supported the event each year and stated their intent to continuing the event next year.
