Anna-Jonesboro Water Commission receives honor from state association

The Illinois Rural Water Association has honored the Anna-Jonesboro Water Commission as its runner-up water system of the year.

The award was presented Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the association’s 36th annual technical conference in Effingham.

 The Illinois Rural Water Association’s runner-up water system of the year award is given to a system dedicated to managing its water system to the highest of standards. 

The winner of the award must meet the strictest industry standards in appearance, record keeping, compliance and consistency of operations. 

“This accurately describes the Anna-Jonesboro Water Commission,” said Frank Dunmire, executive director of the Illinois Rural Water Association, in a news release.

“The Anna-Jonesboro Water Commission has met or exceeded all compliance standards and is managed, maintained and operated to the highest of industry standards.”

Accepting the runner-up water system of the year award at Illinois Rural Water Association’s annual technical conference in Effingham, was Casey Johnson, the superintendent of the Anna-Jonesboro Water Commission water treatment system.

The Illinois Rural Water Association is a private, not-for-profit association of small water and wastewater systems.

The association is dedicated to training and providing technical assistance to those individuals who work in the water and wastewater industry.
