Anna Arts Center to host Annabelle Festival events

The Shawnee Hills Arts Council plans to host activities in conjunction with the upcoming Annabelle Festival in Anna.

Activities are scheduled at the council’s Anna Arts Center, which is located at  125 W. Davie St. in Anna.

Annabelle Festival events scheduled at the arts center follow:

Friday, June 7, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Painting party, all ages welcome.

Friday, June 7, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Life in Southern Illinois art competition and exhibition.

Friday, June 7, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Annabelle Festival flower arrangement competition. Co-sponsored by Anna-Jo Garden Club. Categories in the competition include hydrangeas, artificial arrangements, wall hanging arrangements, potted plants and largest Annabelle.

Saturday, June 8, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Life in Southern Illinois art competition and Annabelle Festival flower arrangement competition.

Saturday, June 8, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Smokey Bear poster contest. First through 5th graders are invited to participate in the contest.

Saturday, June 8, 3 p.m. Young artists will perform opera scenes. The presentation is part of the 2019 Southern Illinois Music Festival.
