Muerial Mae Brown

Muerial Mae Brown, 88, of Ware, died at 7:30 pm, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at her home.  She was born on Feb. 17, 1927 in Union County, the daughter of Elbert Leorne and Serena Elizabeth (Miller) Miller.  Muerial married Carlos Brown on July 18, 1948 in the Ware United Methodist Church.  He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2009.

She is survived by one sister, Eileen Williams; brother-in-law, Lewis Hickom; sister-in-law, Jean Davie; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; one great-great-great niece and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Carlos Brown.

She was a member of the Ware United Methodist Church, she was a member of United Methodist Women and a United Methodist Conference Delegate.  She was a Sunday school teacher for many years.  She was a graduate of S.I.U. in Carbondale.  Muerial was retired after 39 years as an elementary school teacher. 

She was a member and supporter of numerous organizations including the National Wild Turkey Federation; S.E.A.; N.E.A.; I.E.A.; she was a lifetime member of I.R.T.A.; the Farm Bureau; a local member of A.P.U.R.T.A.; a supporter of Migrant Ministry and of the Shalom Parish.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. John Waldon officiating.  Interment was at the Anna City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jesus es el Senor Church of Cobden or the Ware United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
