Move into new courthouse continues

Days of operation for the "old" Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro are numbered.

Construction of a new county courthouse is nearing completion.

The new building is located directly behind a structure which has served the county since the 1850s.

County offices are in the process of moving from the old building into the new structure.

County Clerk's Office

The Union County clerk's office this week announced plans for its move into the new courthouse.

The clerk's office is scheduled to be closed Thursday and Friday, Feb. 14-15, to make the move.

The office then is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the new building.

The county clerk's office will be working to make arrangements for those who may want to obtain a marriage license Feb. 14-15. For more information, contact the office at 833-5711.
