Missouri man sentenced on meth charge
Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds reported Tuesday, Jan. 29, that William D. Ray, 37, of Doniphan, Mo., had been sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, which is a Class 1 felony.
Ray was also sentenced to a concurrent term of six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one count of obstructing justice, a Class 4 felony.
Ray was arrested in November 2012 following a traffic stop by Union County Sheriff’s Office deputies of a vehicle in which Ray was a passenger.
Ray was found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and was taken into custody after he fled on foot into nearby woods.
