Miriam Maxine "Brooksie" Brooks

<p class="p1">Miriam Maxine "Brooksie" Brooks was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in Anna, the daughter of Aaron and Mary Hart, and died on Dec. 21, 2014, at the age of 90. </p><p class="p1">She was married to John Hamilton Brooks for 50 years and lived in Clovis, California, since 1958. Mrs. Brooks was a military wife for 22 years, and traveled the world with John and her growing family, making lifelong friends along the way. </p><p class="p1">In the 1960s, she was active with Clovis School bond measures and the PTA. She worked for Fresno Police Department for six years and retired as a police dispatcher in 1989, from Clovis Police Department, after 18 years of service. </p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by husband John; and a son, Robert "Bobbie Boy." </p><p class="p1">She is survived by her children, Karen Mundt and husband Bruce, John Jr. and wife Janet, Kristen St. Clair and husband Cliff, Richard and wife Karen, Joan Tyler and husband Chris, and Lynne King and husband Jerry; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. </p><p class="p1">A memorial service was held at New Hope Community Church in Clovis, California, on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. Memorials can be made to Valley Children's Hospital.</p>
