Minnie Marie Goehring

Minnie Marie Goehring, 93, of Jonesboro, died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born Dec. 25, 1921 in Rising Sun, Indiana, the daughter of Columbus "Clem" and Arlie Perry Walstom.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen O'Neal of Houston, Texas, Colleen O'Neal of Santa Rosa, California; eight grandchildren, including, Sarah Paige (Patrick) Treece of Dongola, Mark O'Niel Ray of Melbourne, Florida; six great-grandchildren, including Tobie Kate and Trevor Phillip Treece; 11 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Paul David Poe; one daughter, Margret Marie Poe Pilger; and one granddaughter, Penny Elaine Burke.

She attended the Anna Nazarine Church when her health permitted. She was a teacher in Central Illinois for over 47 years.

According to her wishes, Minnie will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
