Minnesota Synchronized Swimming Hall of Fame inducts Ruth Zink of Anna

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Ruth Zink of Anna was recently inducted in the Minnesota Synchronized Swimming Hall of Fame.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Zink, 91, who is originally from Minneapolis,  Minnesota, grew up with 19 lakes in her area, so swimming was something natural for her since she was young.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Zink and a group of friends joined the Aqua Follies at the Minneapolis Aquatennial. That's what started her synchronized swimming career.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Zink has done everything from compete, coach and then became a national judge in 1963.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">"It's very stressful to judge at a national level...you're trying to do the best you can," Zink said.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She quit judging at the national level when she was 88.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She was inducted into the National Synchronized Swimming Hall of Fame in the 1980s.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">According to Zink, the Minneapolis Hall of Fame is new.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She loves synchronized swimming because, "it takes a lot of skills, it's beautiful, and it takes a lot of strength. It's so much more than swimming," Zink said.</span></p>
