<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Millie Murphy, 79, of Topeka, Kansas, died on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Brewster Place in Topeka.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She was born on Oct. 25, 1935, in Cobden, the daughter of Adolph J. and Agnes Bradac Flamm. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She earned an associate degree from Southern Illinois University. She resided in St. Louis from 1957 to 1968 before moving to Topeka. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and did extensive volunteer work for the Salvation Army, created the School Clothing Bank for U.S.D. 501 and baked thousands of tea cakes for the Designer’s Show House fund raisers for Every Woman’s Resource Center. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, music, theater, traveling, tea parties, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She married Don Murphy on Feb. 1, 1958, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on Sept.11, 2006. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Survivors include three children, Brian (Liz) Murphy of Clearwater, Florida, Brad (Helena) Murphy of Alameda, California, and Jill (Tony) Bettis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren, Kelsey, Dani, Grant, Grace and Miles; and her three siblings, Ed Flamm, Rose Marie Flamm and Raymond Flamm. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka, Kansas. Burial followed in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Visitation wsa planned from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, at at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka, where a parish Rosary was prayed beginning at 7:30 p.m. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Memorials can be made to the Murphy Family Scholarship for Nursing, c/o Topeka Community Foundation, 5431 SW 29th St., Topeka, Kansas 66614.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel in Topeka, Kansas, is in charge of arrangements.
