<p class="p1">Mildred Lavern Boalbey, 80, of Cairo, died at 10:59 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.</p><p class="p1">She was born on Jan. 24, 1935, in Portageville, Missouri, the daughter of Hardie and Gertrude Wrinkle Mathenia.</p><p class="p1">She married Ellis Boalbey in 1973. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1974.</p><p class="p1">She worked as a secretary for Louisiana Dock Company and the printing business. In her spare time she liked to read and was an avid Cardinals fan. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Cairo.</p><p class="p1">Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Mary) Richardson of Cairo, Stephen (Linda) Richardson of St. Louis, and Kenneth Richardson of Cairo; grandchildren Thomas Eric Richardson of Scott City, Missouri, Sean Richardson, Melissa Richardson and Patrick Richardson, all of St. Louis; nieces Lorraine Book and Doris K. Book of Braggadocio, Missouri; and a nephew, David Book of Malden, Missouri.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Mark Anthony Richardson; a daughter, Kimberly Rose Richardson; a sister, Mary Irene Book; and a niece, Lynn Book.</p><p class="p1">Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 10, from noon to 2 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo.</p><p class="p1">Funeral services followed the visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Father James Muriuki officiating.
