Michael Todd Mihalopulos

Michael Todd Mihalopulos, 43, of Carbondale, died at 9:12 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1966, in Carbondale, the son of Gus and Jacquelyn Mihalopulos.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Jennifer Mihalopulos-Belk and husband Gregory Belk; a nephew, Wyatt Michael Belk of Carbondale; aunts and uncles, James Smith of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Frank Smith of Carbondale, Carmen Merod of Florissant, Mo.,  and Shirley Connelly of Carbondale; and his caregivers at Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gus and Elizabeth Mihalopulos and Frank and Ellouise Smith.

A funeral Mass was said at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Carbondale, preceded by the Rosary at 10 a.m.

Burial was in St. Andrew's Cemetery in Christopher.

Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher was in charge of arrangements.
