Mary Elizabeth “Pee Wee” Griggs

Mary Elizabeth “Pee Wee” Griggs of Canton, Ga., formerly of Sandy Springs, Ga., died on Sept. 17, 2009.

She was a former member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and sanctuary choir. She currently was a member of Roswell United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Griggs; a grandson, Stephen Galezieski; a brother, Charles Rendleman; and a sister, Patricia Grede.

Mrs. Griggs is survived by daughters, Linda Galezieski of Marietta, Ga.; Cheryl Kathleen Funsten of Cantoni, Ga.; Karen Sue Griggs of Marietta, Ga.; a son, Ronald M. Griggs of Michigan; a sister, Dorthea Papp of Buford; grandchildren Kevin Griggs, Jonathan Griggs, Kirsten Griggs, Shannon Godfrey, Justin Griggs, Michael Gilbert, Heather Gilbert and Rebecca Gilbert; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel in Atlanta, Ga., with the Rev. Stacey Hanson officiating. Interment was in Arlington Memorial Park.
