Margie B. Baker

Margie B. Baker, 90, of Anna, died at 9:24 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 in the Union County Nursing Home in Anna. She was born March 12, 1925 in Dongola the daughter of Claude and Leta (Pender) Fisher. She married Paul Smith on Sept. 16, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1971. Later Margie married Dick Baker on Feb. 20, 1975 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death in 2007.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Hawk of Anna, John (Carlene) Smith of Ruskin, Florida, and Martha (Jack) Sensmeier of Anna; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; two step-sons, Bobby (Pam) Baker of Makanda, and Randy Baker of Murphysboro; one step daughter, Donna (Gordon) Bauer of Sarasota, Florida; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one sister, Maxine Toler; and one step-brother, Floyd Pender.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
