Lula Mae Donas

                Mrs. Lula Mae Donas, 76, of the Westside Care Center in West Frankfort, formerly of Cobden, died at 12:24 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Franklin Hospital in Benton.  She was born April 24, 1933, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Hazel Fisher Sims.  She married Tony Donas in October of 1959 in West Frankfort.

     Lula Mae is survived by two daughters, Toni Jo Donas and partner Robin Mocaby of Thompsonville and Billie Donas of West Frankfort; a brother, Roy (Alice) Sims of Buncombe; four sisters, Geneva Trexler of Cobden, Cathy Glenn of Herrin, Mildred Sims of West Frankfort, and Wanda Curlee of Terre Haute, IN; a grandchild, Amber NiCole (Josh) Joiner of West Frankfort; a step-grandchild, Cori Arview of Thompsonville; a great grandchild, Wesley Joiner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, including a dear friend, Holly Joiner Hosick.  She was preceded in death by her mother; brothers, Floyd, Jack, and Marshall Sims; sisters, Ellen Treece, Betty Sims Odum, Barbara Roye, and two infant sisters, Maxine and Mary; and her husband, Tony Donas.

    Lula Mae attended church at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Cobden and the Murdale Baptist Church in Carbondale.

                Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Mae Donas will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with  Pastor Rob McKeithen  and Rev. Joey McKinnies officiating.  Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Memorials may be made to Westside Care Center in West Frankfort.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
