Louise V. "Mammaw" Shelton, 95, of Cobden, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 in the Union County Hospital in Anna. Louise was born Sept. 25, 1920 in Cobden, the daughter of Fred Raymond and Minnie Mae (Smoot) Jackson. She married Clarence L. Shelton in 1946, he precedes her in death.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Susan) Yates of Cobden; daughter in law, Dianna Yates of Cobden; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Franklin (Sharon) Jackson of Granite City; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence L. Shelton; one son, Jack Yates; three brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Granite City, she attended the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Jonesboro. Louise was known to everyone as "Mammaw", her family and faith were very dear to her heart.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 in the First Baptist Church in Cobden with Pastor Ed Falgout officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 in the First Baptist Church in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to the BMEN at the First Baptist Church in Cobden. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home and at the church.
