Louise Gee, 87, of Anna died Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at her daughter's home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born Sept. 21, 1928 in Dongola, the daughter of Willard C. and Edith (Brewer) McHughes. She married James Lewis Gee on Feb. 12, 1947 in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1969.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Louis Carl Sr., Willard Jr. Kenneth Russell and William Allen (Billy) McHughes; one grandson, Steven Dwayne Gee on Dec. 21, 2015; two daughters, Joyce Marie Gee on March 20, 1949 and Margaret Gee Lingle on Aug. 5, 2001, surviving is Margaret's husband, R.A. Lingle, his son, Robbie Lingle of Anna and his children, Josh, Bryce and Ashley Lingle.
She is survived by other loving biological and adopted family members, two sisters, Leona Carnell-Mount of Anna and Katie (Johnny) Edwards of Anna; daughter, Carolyn Sadler of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.; grandchildren, Tina Waller and Connie Hileman; great-grandchildren, Bryant Waller, Becky and Daniel Hileman; great-great-grandchildren, Mattie, Ali, Kale, Emma and Averie; adopted daughter and caretaker, Pam Gilman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; daughter, Wilma (Allen) Raynor of Manhattan Kansas; grandchildren, Michael Raynor, Jennifer Delrio and Timothy Raynor; great-grandchildren, Nikki, Mia, Luke, Aliyah and Hayden; sons, James Lewis Jr. (Debbie) Gee of Eminence, Missouri; grandchildren, Jason and Jake Gee; great-grandchildren, Braden, Mackenzie and Paige; Michael (Kim) Gee of Umatilla, Florida; grandchildren, Michael, Shawn, and Sarah Coonce, Matthew and Joshua Gee; great-grandchildren, Connor and Jaxon; Elbert Gee of Anna; grandchildren, Jessica Willis and Natalie Gee; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Grant; Jeff Gee of Manhattan, Kansas; grandchildren, Krystal, Kristina and Jeffery Gee; special friends, VFW members in Anna, Illinois, Shawn, Kristen and Stephen Knupp; VFW members in Manhattan, Kansas, friends and patrons of Bob's Tavern, friends and patrons of Lou's Place; as well as numerous friends from Anna-Jonesboro, Southern Illinois, Southeast, Missouri, and Manhattan, Kansas.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Manhattan, Kansas. She worked many years as a bartender.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
