Local couple doing well in golf doubles events

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Brenda Rendleman of Anna has a good philosophy about playing golf.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">“Some days you have it and some days you don’t,” she said.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Brenda, along with her husband, Darryl, have won in doubles competition twice this season in couples play. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">They won first place at the Franklin County course in West Frankfort and also at Marissa and finished in second place at the Jackson County Country Club course and the Lake of Egypt course.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">At the Jack-n-Jill Scramble this past weekend at the Union County Country Club  in Anna, they finished in fifth place in the A Division. They finished with 127 points, fourth place finishers had 126 points.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">“We were 10 under par the first day and didn’t fare too well after that,” she said.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Besides competing in golf tournaments locally, the duo goes to Florida for five months a year to compete in golf.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">She has won the club championship at the Reunion Resort and Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, for the past two years.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">“We get to play every day there,” she said. “There’s a lot of competition there. We compete together and on our own. It’s a lot of fun. We go in November and come back for Christmas and remain until April.” </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">But this year’s run is not finished.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">“It’s not over  yet,” she said. “We still have some golf to play. We love to compete.”</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">They still have tournaments remaining at the Kimberland Country Club  at Jackson, Missouri, and the Governor’s Run in Carlyle.</span></p>
