Last summer, three close friends and I traveled to Current River for a weekend getaway before school started. We had amazing memories, and an unforgettable time.
This year, we didn’t find the time to travel this summer, but still wanted a weekend getaway, along with three additional companions.
I searched and searched the internet, looking for something that could fit seven people. I had almost lost hope finding that everything was either too far or too expensive.
Finally, I searched one more time, even closer to home: The Shawnee Wine Trail. I couldn’t believe all the cabins, hotels, bed and breakfast and lofts I found that were available for wonderful prices.
The group and I decided on Alto Pass Wine Trail Loft as our getaway destination. My friends and I were amazed and gawked at the beautiful architecture and history that was in the loft.
We ate lunch at the Root Beer Saloon, traveled to the Bald Knob Cross and made a stop at Grammer’s Market for us to get some supplies and cook dinner that night.
Everyone had a blast, including me, and it just goes to show that you can have an amazing getaway right in your backyard.
I would like to thank Brian from the Alto Pass Wine Trail Loft for the outstanding accommodations.
